March comics / cómics de marzo

In March I had the opportunity to get my hands on some classic material like New Mutants and James Robinson’s The Golden Age. I also enjoyed reading Silver Surfer, Jessica Jones, Doctor Strange and Infamous Iron Man, and most especially Cinema Purgatorio (Alan Moore and Garth Ennis continue to deliver amazing stories). And I have to say that the first issue of American Gods was very good. However, my favorite issue of the month was Astro City #41, a touching story with a unique take on the superhero genre that only an author like Kurt Busiek could’ve created. And now without further ado here are March comics as per solicitations:

AMERICAN GODS: SHADOWS #1
(W) Neil Gaiman, P. Craig Russell (A) P. Craig Russell (CA) Glenn Fabry. NEIL GAIMAN! P. CRAIG RUSSELL! SCOTT HAMPTON! Shadow Moon just got out of jail, only to discover his wife is dead. Defeated, broke, and uncertain as to where to go from here, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday, who employs him to serve as his bodyguard - thrusting Shadow into a deadly world of the supernatural, where ghosts of the past come back from the dead, and a brewing war between old and new gods hits a boiling point. The Hugo, Bram Stoker, Locus, World Fantasy, and Nebula award-winning novel and upcoming Starz television series by Neil Gaiman is adapted as a comic series for the first time!

This is the theatre of the surreal from the imagination of the one and only Alan Moore! Prepare yourself for twisted tales from the masters of the art form. Now showing: Cinema Purgatorio by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, A More Perfect Union by Max Brooks and Michael DiPascale, Code Pru by Garth Ennis and Raulo Caceres, Modded by Kieron Gillen and Ignacio Calero, and The Vast by Christos Gage and Gabriel Andrade. JSA: THE GOLDEN AGE DELUXE EDITION HC
(W) James Robinson (A/CA) Paul Smith. Set at the start of one of the darkest periods of U.S. history, the infamous 'McCarthy Era,' JSA: THE GOLDEN AGE takes a thought-provoking look at what might have happened to DC's first generation of super heroes beyond their exploits during the Second World War, as paranoia pervades America. DC's first generation of super heroes have been driven into retirement or hiding, or madness-except for a few who are willing to change with the times. But behind the scenes, something even more sinister is unfolding-a subtle plot that may engulf the planet and remake it in one man's image. Collects THE GOLDEN AGE #1-4 in a Deluxe hardcover for the first time.

En marzo tuve la oportunidad de revisar material clásico como los New Mutants y The Golden Age de James Robinson. También disfruté leyendo Silver Surfer, Jessica Jones, Doctor Strange e Infamous Iron Man, y especialmente Cinema Purgatorio (Alan Moore y Garth Ennis continúan produciendo historias asombrosas).

INFAMOUS IRON MAN #5

JSA: THE GOLDEN AGE DELUXE EDITION HC

NEW MUTANTS EPIC COLLECTION: RENEWAL TPB
